(Rutland & Burlington Railroad) Sutherland Falls R. & B. R.R., Nov 18, 1865, two strikes of station oval on cover bearing 3¢ rose (65) tied by four-rings target to Montpellier Vt., 1866 docketing at left, F.-V.F., Rarity VII.

The station at Sutherland Falls was situated 61 miles south of Burlington and 58 miles north of Bellows Falls on Route 454. The Rutland & Burlington was contracted in July
1865 at $19,400 a year for a daily service excluding Sundays on the 199½-mile route.

Put into the Sutherland Falls station on November 18th 1865 and addressed to Montpelier and struck with the Station Agents date stamp. Carried on Route 454 north to Burlington for transfer to Route 463 on the Vermont Central Rail Road for Montpelier.
