'N.-York' Apr 24, red cds on blue 1850 folded letter from New York City to Boston Mass. bearing 5¢ red brown (1), large margins to clear, bright shade approaching the orange brown, canceled by stylized manuscript "X"; light vertical file fold well away from stamp, stamp with light wrinkle at right, fresh and Very Fine, ex-Wagshal.
Towle No. 73-B-4    Estimate $300 - 400.

Put onto Route 801 at the pier at New York. Carried through on the combined steamboat and railroad route to the ship owner William F. Parrot at Boston.

Notation on back indicates the adhesive is from the cleaned plate before Fourth Delivery and is a rare color.
