1870 Engineers' Papillon to Poland, onionskin paper datelined "Metz le 23 Septembre" address to Radom, Poland via Warsaw, probably carried inside of an envelope de ré-expédition, Very Fine, carried aboard the 6th Engineers' balloon which left besieged Metz on September 24 and was recovered safely. Estimate $3,000 - 4,000.
