1871 (Jan. 17) Paris to Jersey (Channel Islands), folded formular letter addressed to St. Hélier, postmarked "Paris, R. de Cléry, 17 Janv. 71" double circle postmark and franked with pair of 20c Cérès tied by numeral "24" star cancels, backstamped "Jersey, 21 Janv. 71" arrival postmark, Very Fine, a scarce cover addressed to the Channel Islands carried by the Poste de Paris. Estimate $200 - 300.
Letter written in England which mentions, "…the bombs are falling like rain", and continues "…we always eat horse, dog, cat and rats".
