1871 (Jan. 10) Paris to Geneva and forwarded to Nice, folded Gazette des Absents No22 postmarked "Paris, Rue D'Enghien, 4 Janv. 71" double circle, franked with 30c Empire Lauré (small scuff) tied by numeral "4" star cancel, adhesive additionally tied by red "Paris Caisse, 10 Janv. 71" double circle postmark, sent to Geneva with "19 I 71" arrival backstamp and forwarded to Nice with arrival of "21 Janv. 71" postmark, Very Fine and unusual, carried by the Kepler.

A RARE AND UNUSUAL COVER WHICH WAS MISLAID AND FOUND AT THE PARIS CENTRAL OFFICE AND CANCELLED BY THE RARE RED PARIS CAISSE POSTMARK FOR INCLUSION WITH THE PRIVILEGED MAILS. THIS IS THE FIRST ITEM OF ITS KIND SEEN TO DATE.
