1870 (Nov. 21) Paris to Gex, folded "Dépêche-Ballon No 7" postmarked "Paris, Rue d'Enghien, 21 Nov. 70" double circle franked with 20c Cérès (torn) tied by "4" star cancel, backstamped "Gex, 12 Dec. 70" arrival postmark, cover then forwarded to Geneva, Switzerland and additionally franked with 10c Empire Lauré paying the special 10c border rate, tied by superb strike of "Gex, 13 Dec. 70" single circle postmark, backstamped "Geneve, 13 XII 70" & Chene-Bourg, 13 XII 70 arrival cds's, Extremely Fine and choice, an unusal and rare usage, carried by the Ville d'Orléans which landed in Norway (Tunet Mail).
