1870 (Oct. 22) Paris to Bruille, printed formular letter franked with 20c Empire Lauré tied by "Paris, R. Cardinal-Lemoine, 22 Oct. 70" double circle postmark with illustrated blue oval handstamp of the Musee d'Hist. Nat. on reverse showing Beehive, Serpent & Grapevine, some faults, Extremely Fine and choice, carried by the Montgolfier, quite scarce with the adhesive tied solely by Paris postmark. Estimate $500 - 750.
A very rare cover as the mail was captured by the Germans and most of which was destroyed.
