"Lewiston W.T., May 21. 1863" (Idaho), manuscript postmark on buff cover bearing 10¢ green (68) cancelled by bold circle of wedges to Ludlow Vt., sender's endorsement "Paid through - G." at top right, Very Fine, One of Only Two Recorded Examples of This Postmark., ex-Persson.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Lewiston became an Idaho Territory post office on March 3, 1863, but apparently the postmaster had not been officially advised from the Post Office in Washington D.C. and was still using the "W.T." designation on May 21st.
