(Tulare) Kaweah, Cal., Feb 21 1891, manuscript provisional town with "Advance" name crossed out in cds (Williams "no postmarks recorded" for Advance) two months after close of Advance P.O. (Williams unrecorded), on 1887, 2¢ green entire to San Francisco; reduced at right and slight soiling, F.-V.F., a unique provisional usage of a moved post office, one of the rarest Tulare covers. Estimate $300 - 400.
Advance was the maxim of the Kaweah Cooperative Commonwealth Colony, founders of the community.
