Guatemala, 1878, Indian Women, 2r carmine rose, an early usage of a single example on the famous 1878 part cover to London, England from the Matthews correspondence, endorsed "via Belize" with an additional 2r single reduced out at right, tied by bold barred "18" oval handstamp with matching "Correos de Zacapa, Ago 3, 1878" origin cds, in combination with British Honduras 1877, 1sh green, perf. 14 (12) applied in transit and tied by barred "O" oval handstamp, matching "Belize, Au 15, 78" cds at right, as Guatemala had yet to join the U.P.U., London cds of arrival (Sept 12) on reverse; reduced at right for better display, illustrated prior to this event in Goodman (page 86), otherwise Very Fine, ex-L.
