Ecuador, 1872, 1r yellow buff, quadrille paper, block of 6 and single, block positions 25-27/34-36, ample to mostly large margins, in combination with 1865, ½r blue (1872 printing) on Judicial front with top flap to Quito, all tied by Riobamba cds's, dotted lozenge and manuscript cancels; vertical fold affecting block, pencil "15 oz" weight notation, otherwise Very Fine, one of the largest usages of the 1r yellow on quadrille paper known, ex-Longhi.
