New Zealand, 1862, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 1s yellow green, imperf, Large Star watermark, pair and single, used with 1d orange vermilion (33 var.), 2d deep blue (36), and 6d black brown (41), all tied by indistinct "18" barred ovals, matching "Dunedin, Otago, AU-15, 62" origin backstamp on blue folded cover (no side flaps) to Scotland, blue framed "Missent to Ayr" handstamp at bottom, reverse with Ayr, Glasgow (11.13, 11.15) and Stewarton (11.15) arrival cds; stamps have been lifted, the face panel cleaned and the stamps replaced, slightly misplaced., Fine and rare, H.
