New Zealand, 1862, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 6d red brown, imperf, Large Star watermark, top margin single with large to mostly enormous margins showing portions of four adjacent stamps, beautiful rich color, used with 2d pale blue (38) large to enormous margins on three sides, touched at foot, each cancelled by numeral "1" barred oval, matching "Auckland, New-Zealand, DE 5 1863" backstamp on cover to London, England, endorsed "via Marseilles", showing red "Deficient Postage / Fine" handstamp completed for "2d" and "6" respectively, large manuscript "8" pence debit to G.B., "More - To - Pay, E.C." circular handstamp, red London (2.12) arrival backstamp; flap torn and minor tone marks, a Very Fine use, Chalon, Christie's Robson Lowe, February 1989
