Ecuador, 1865, 1r Yellow Buff, tied by manuscript "Chim-bo" cancel on Judicial cover to Riobamba, reverse with pencil "Nov 1870" archive dating, Very Fine, this being one of three known covers bearing the Chimbo manuscript cancellation, ex-Saá.

The Post Office at Chimbo was opened late in 1869 and soon after two similar fancy handstamps, also in 1869, came into use. Manuscript cancellations from Chimbo were extraordinary.
