Apr 22" exchange office cds on blue tissue cover to Spezia, Sardinia, carried by Cunard Line Persia from New York Apr. 25th to Queenstown arriving May 4th, Calais (5.6) transit and "GB/1F60c" Anglo-French accountancy boxed handstamp, manuscript "10" due marking, Very Fine, ex-Gibson, Neinken, Wagshal. The 1¢ Type IIIa stamp pays the carrier fee and the 5¢ pays the British open mail rate. This cover was the subject of an article by Neinken and Starnes (Chronicle 124, pp. 276-277).
