Kellogg" postmaster free frank, 1811 Hartford Conn. fancy cds with "Way 11" rating to Amherst and forwarded with manuscript. "Amherst" postmark, 1845 Amherst red "25" fancy rating handstamp use, two #1 1847 issue covers (only 3 1847 issue covers recorded, all are 5¢ uses) including one with the 5¢ cancelled by the fancy blue dotted grid cancel, #1 used from Boston incoming to Amherst, #2 pen cancelled incoming used from Cincinnati Oh. to Winchester Ct. and forwarded to North Amherst Mass., 1849 and 1850 Amherst to Jamaica with one having "Jamaica / Ship Letter" two-line handstamp, #10 use, #11 1853 registered use to Philadelphia with red "R" handstamp, #11 used on Fremont campaign cover, #26 on illustrated Amherst Picture Gallery cover, couple Civil War patriotics, auxiliary marking covers including. "Held for Postage" and "Due", etc., F.-V.F., an excellent collection with many better items. Estimate $2,000 - 3,000.
