The Athens two-subject woodcut engraving showing the small "Paid" at left and large "Paid" at right. Lamar was a son of Howell Cobb (1815-1868). Howell married Mary Ann Lamar, daughter of Colonel Zachariah Lamar of Milledgeville Ga., by whom he had 12 children.
