1861, 30¢ orange, used with 3¢ rose (65) and 12¢ black (69), all cancelled by four-ring cancel, matching "Camp Dennison, O., Miamiville, Jun 19, 1865" origin cds on orange cover to Hon. James Monroe, American Consul at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, red "N.York Am. Pkt., Paid, Jun 24" exchange cds and matching "24" credit handstamp to G.B., red London Paid (7.5) transit cds; 30¢ small flaws, a Very Fine use at the 45¢ treaty rate via British mail to Brazil.

Camp Dennison was a Union training camp near Miamiville Oh. James Monroe (1821-1898) was the U.S. Consul to Rio de Janeiro (1863-69) and later U.S. Representative from Ohio (1871-79).
