Aug 23 1862" double-circle postmark on mourning cover with preprinted address to Switzerland, endorsed "Via France in French Mail", red "New York 'Paid 12' Sep 8" credit exchange cds, red French (9.19) transit cds and matching small "PD" framed handstamp, reverse with Swiss transits including Zurich (9.20) and Tägerwilen (9.21) arrival cds; some edge wear and small flaws, otherwise Very Fine and scarce 3¢ franking at the 21¢ French Mail rate to Switzerland.
