(Washington) Hillsboro, Oregon, two covers, first an 1861 folded letter to Maine with Hillsboro, Or., Sep 4 cds (Whittlesey 4, R 5) and 1857 10¢ green type V with target cancel, "1861" docket at left, stain at bottom, accompanied by a handwritten transcription of the letter from a man to his family back home, "second" with Hillsboro, Orn., May 20/ 63 manuscript postmark (Whittlesey 3, R 5) and 1861 3¢ rose cancelled by pen strokes, to "Oak Point, Columbia C. Oregon" (no such Post Office but presumably sent to Rainier), discoloration from moisture, edge wear, Fine Pair. Estimate $150 - 200.
