Hussey's Post, 1875 (1¢) black, on thick wove, without gum, clear to mostly large margins, Very Fine, an extremely rare unlisted color variety and quite possibly unique; with 2010 P.F. certificate. Scott No. 87L52 var. Estimate $750 - 1,000.
This "82 Broadway" letterbox type should not be confused with the common 1863 issue (87L24) as there are numerous design differences, especially in the flourishes. The most notable is the flourish to the left of "City" which has become triangular.
