Rosita Colorado Apr 18 1876, magenta boxed five-line postmark on cover to Mission Creek, Kansas bearing 3¢ green (158) tied by unusual segmented bar cancel; reduced at right and some overall soiling, still F.-V.F., still F.-V.F., Rosita is the only Colorado town known to have used this type of postmark during the territorial period, and pre-statehood examples are very scarce. Illustrated in Jarrett's Colorado book. Estimate $150 - 200.
