Honolulu, Hawaiian-Islands, Mar 16, black cds on light buff cover to Tioga Pa. bearing 5¢ blue (32) tied by crude two-ring canceller and two U.S. 5¢ brown (76) singles tied by two strikes of "San Francisco Cal. Mar 30" cds duplex with multi-point star cancels, endorsed "Per Steamer "Idaho", Mch. 16. 1870" at bottom left, reduced slightly at left, F.-V.F., a scarce combination use.

THE ONLY RECORDED COVER CARRIED ON THE 27TH CONTRACT TRIP FROM HONOLULU TO SAN FRANCISCO.

Cover carried on 27th contract trip by NPTC "Idaho" from Honolulu Feb. 27th to San Francisco arriving Mar. 29th. The U.S. postage paying the 10¢ contract rate. Entered the mails with San Francisco Mar. 30th for forwarding by transcontinental railroad.
