Bamber & Co.'s, Contra Costa Express, Paid., red oval frank handstamp (BAM-101) on 1861, 3¢ pink paste-up entire to San Jose, indicia canceled by "San Jose, Cal., Jul 17, 1863" postal cds; some faint staining at bottom, still Very Fine and very rare, three red handstamp franks are known, one of the three resides in the Wiltsee Collection. Estimate $200 - 300.
