United States Local Post Forgery Collection, extensive holding of over 3,800 stamps plus 35 genuine covers and dozens of genuine stamps, arranged on pages in four Lindner albums; forgeries includes Adams City Express Post types including full 2¢ work and turn reprint sheets, good showing of Blood's types including early Striding Messenger designs, Bouton's with scarce forgery sheets, Bouton's Manhattan bogus types in colors, approximately 20 different colored Bowery issues, Cheever & Towle with R. Lowe forgery plate reconstruction, City Despatch Post with scarce Cole forgery types, Clark & Co. with a myriad of color types, Crosby forgery types in colors and the scarce bogus, nice showing of Cummings forgeries, uncommon Strait's circular forgeries and ad labels, Florida Express and various colored papers, Floyds with reprint sheets in colors, Hackett's bogus types, some of the scarce Hales types, Hall & Neill's types, good showing of Handford's forgeries, scarce Hunt's bogus, Hussey's with Wood sheets and scarce forgery multiple (on R. Lowe page bearing the rare Washington Wood reprints in lilac, green and blue as well as the "proof" with "Paid" cancel, additional reprints with various fake cancel types, Teese types and "reprint" sheet, good show of the Walker bogus issues, scarce Walton & Co. creations, Westervelt including the uncommon reprint sheets, Whittelsey forgeries, etc., original material includes the Allen's blackish purple issue (3L4 and very undercatalogued), 41L1 on cover, Blood's good stampless and combination with U.S. issue covers, 5 Stait's stampless (most ex-Gibson), Floyd's 68L1 and the rare brown 64L2 used (cat $1,000), Hales used and stampless covers, large multiples of 25 & 20 of 107L1 and well as several on cover, #108L3, 112L1 tied on piece, Pomeroy with full sheet and on cover (needing to be checked), Richwood triangle issue, WF&Co. Virginia Pony issues, and many more; a wonderful assembly with some duplication to be expected and some modern photocopy material which may have been added to the count, well worth proper evaluation.
