St. John's Post was a little-known South Carolina mail service that operated during the first half of the nineteenth century between Charleston and the upper reaches of Cooper River in the St. John's and St. Thomas parishes. An excellent article about the post was written by Robert J. Karrer Jr. and Joseph T. Holleman in the American Philatelist, April 1989, p. 351-361.
