Australia, 1849 Seymour, N.S.W. to Melbourne, Victoria, folded letter to the curator of interstate estates with brown "Free Seymour" boxed handstamp crossed out with "8" rate applied, reverse with "Seymour, Port Phillip, Au 12" transit and Melbourne arrival oval date stamps, Very Fine, an interesting unaccepted free mail usage, it was shortly after this letter was mail that free mail was abolished on January 1st of 1850.Estimate $300 - 400.
