THIS IS A "LAST DAY COVER" AS THE LOCAL POST OFFICE WAS CLOSED AND CHARLESTON EVACUATED BY CONFEDERATE MILITARY FORCES ON FEB. 17TH 1865.

The type 4a cds was only used after August 1864, properly dating this cover to 1865.
