A RARE USAGE OF THE 1863 2¢ GREEN WITH DUE MARKING TO MAKE THE 5¢ RATE FOR UNDER 500 MILES.

We offered one other example of this use in our sale 43 lot 463. This is a good example of why the color of the 5¢ stamp was changed from green to blue in 1862.
