Confederacy, Charleston S.C. Feb 9 186, clear cds with matching large "10" due rating handstamp (CSA type K) on salmon cover to Greenville C.H., S.C., endorsed care "Capt. J.C. Hoyt" at bottom left, reverse with 10¢ blue (11), four large margins, faulty, tied by extra ms. ink; reduced at left, F.-V.F.; signed by Dietz on reverse.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

The Charleston Post Office apparently did not recognize the franking on reverse and rated postage due in error.
