May 22" cds with "31" cent due rating, this was an error rate by the British post (26¢ debit should have been 28¢), accompanied by second cover from same correspondence with clear "Fernando Po, MR 16 60" cds, Liverpool (5.12) transit backstamp and correct ms. "28" cent debit, "New-York Br. Pkt. May 23" with "33" due rating h.s., cover missing paper at right, also includes third cover bearing two 1857, 3¢ dull red singles addressed to Janus Atkins, U.S. Steamer Mohican at New York N.Y., Very Fine.
