S. Mills at Honolulu, Hawaii, partial strike of matching "G. B. Post & Co., San Francisco, Forwarded by" octagonal framed handstamp, Very Fine. Estimate $1,500 - 2,000.
ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED STRIKES OF THE SCHOONER "VAQUERO." SHIP HANDSTAMP WITH DOUBLE QUOTATION MARKS.
"Vaquero" first arrived from San Francisco on September 27, 1854, having departed San Francisco September 8. This cover was carried on the sailing from San Francisco departing November 10th 1854 and arriving at Honolulu on December 1st. She continued to make runs between Honolulu and San Francisco until June 16, 1855.
