Hiram Favor, as the duly appointed letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office on the St. John, N.B. to Boston route, handled significant volumes of mail during his ten year time frame. The majority bore various route agent postmarks without any other indication of Favor's carriage other than reference to the steamship "Admiral".
