"Amanda" of 142 gross tons was built at Louisville in 1852 for the Mobile - New Orleans trade. In April 1857, she was purchased by Henry Tucker with Capt. N.C. Briggs as Master operating on the Red River.
In July 1855, Route 7702 was designated as the Shreveport to New Orleans route with stops at Grand Ecore for Natchitoches and Alexandria.
