Steamer Frank Pargoud, perfect strike of blue May 9, 1868 oval handstamp on 3¢ pink Nesbitt entire (U58) to New Orleans La., top edge tear, otherwise Very Fine.

The "Frank Pargoud" of 1,105 tons built at Jeffersonville Ind. in 1868 for Capt. John W. Tobin for the Ouachita River trade. The vessel proved too large for its intended use and was transferred in the summer of 1868 to the New Orleans to St. Louis trade.
