From Steamer Natchez No. 2, red oval handstamp on blue folded letter datelined "Rodney Decr. 14 1850" to Philadelphia Pa., carried to New Orleans where entering the mails with red "New Orleans '10' Dec 21" integral cds and matching "Steam" straightline, fresh and Very Fine. Milgram No. 969 Estimate $300 - 400.
The "Natchez No. 2" was owned by Thomas Leathers and was possibly running Route 6003 contracted by the single trip at 2¢ a letter carried.
