(The Morning Line) Morning Line Advertising Billboard, illustrated 9 3/8" x 11 1/8" billboard for the Morning Line running between Albany and Troy with intermediate landings from the Steamboat Pier at the Foot of Barclay Street, Passage $1.00, illustration of "The New Low-Pressure Steamboat, Troy, Captain A. Gorham"; couple edge nicks and reduced a bit at bottom, still Very Fine and scarce.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

A private mail service operated on the Hudson River for at least 10 years between 1848 and 1858 in opposition to the Peoples Line that had the contract. Letters received the "Troy & New York, Steam Boat" rectangular handstamp and were treated as steamboat letters at the port of arrival and the normal postage was uprated by the 2¢ ship letter fee.
