Courtland, Ariz, 4/12/09 (Cochise), manuscript postmark (Meyer A, rarity 6) tying 2¢ red on cover to Tombstone, reverse with Bisbee transit and receiving postmark; cover edge nicks and reduction at left, otherwise Very Fine, the first and only provisional manuscript postmark from Cortland. Estimate $200 - 300.
The Cortland P.O. was opened early in 1909. They received their first handstamp postmark shortly after this cover was posted.
