Jul 11, perfect bold strike of cds ties 3¢ rose (65), beautifully centered with deep rich color and fresh paper, on orange cover to Cambridge Vt., enclosed letter datelined "Fort Ridgeley May 30th 1864" with good content from a soldier out on the plains where "We have been running around all over this country after Indians long enough…", with details of diet, travel and horses; reduced at left with tiny corner mend, still Very Fine Territorial use with a superb strike, ex-David Jarrett.
