10¢ Black, large margins to clear at upper right, neat pen cancel, matching "Union Mo. May 10 / 51" postmark on buff envelope to Columbia, S.C., original 1851 enclosure; minor erosion in postmark, still Very Fine, accompanied by a stampless Union Mo. from 1849 addressed to Big Lick, Va., ex-Craveri; with 1993 P.S.E. certificate.

THE ONLY RECORDED 1847 COVER FROM UNION, MISSOURI.

This is the only 1847 issue cover from a Missouri post office other than St. Louis. Union received a supply of 300 5¢ stamps and 100 10¢ stamps. No 5¢ covers are known, and this is the only 10¢ cover recorded from there.
