Cox, MC" free frank and "Washington D.C., Free, Jan 6, 1859" cds, endorsed "Smithsonian Institute" at left, hand carried to its destination, Very Fine, an exceedingly rare destination, ex-Grunin.

Samuel S. Cox was a Congressman for Ohio and regent of the Smithsonian Institute.
