1867 (Mar. 27) Baltimore, Md. To Bremen, Germany, folded cover bearing 1863, 2¢ black (73) tied by "Baltimore Md. Apr 27" cds, New York large "½" silbergroschen handstamp credit to Bremen, carried as docketed by NGL Line Union departing New York Mar. 28th to Bremerhaven arriving Apr. 9th, blue "America/über Bremen/Franco" transit; small spindle hole, stamp with light toning; still a Very Fine and scarce circular rate use.

Circular prepaid to destination in Bremen. Large "½" handstamp of New York, known in red and in black, applied as a result of late 1866/early 1867 negotiations with the Germans that established printed matter rates beyond the GAPU and set U.S. credits per item (recent research by Heinrich Conzelmann).
