(Shades) 3¢ Bright Orange Brown With Reddish & Yellowish Tints, Type II, position 85R1e, vibrant color, large margins to just touched at top, tied by perfect strike of blue grid cancel on light blue 1851 folded letter to Hagerstown, Md., matching sharp "Gettysburgh, Pa. Oct 4" cds, Extremely Fine and attractive.

The bright orange brown has two rare sub-shades, one with a slightly reddish tinge, the other with a yellowish tinge (see Chase page 155). This stamp is intermediate in color between the two.
