Deer Valley, Colo., Jun 8, 75, manuscript postmark on 1874, 3¢ green entire to Philadelphia, Pa., Very Fine, this is the only recorded postmark from this town. Estimate $400 - 600.
Deer Valley was a stage station on the road from Denver to South Park. In October 1878 the Denver South Park and Pacific Railroad reached nearby Bailey's Ranch. Soon thereafter, the Deer Valley post office was moved three miles southwest to the new community of Bailey.
