1840 (May 16) Baltimore, Md. to Schiedam, Holland, folded letter with partial red "Baltimore Md. May 17" cds and matching "Paid" h.s. with "25" and "37½" ratings for 2x 12½¢ sailing ship freight money fee plus 2x 18¾¢ inland postage, carried by Black Ball Line Columbus from New York May 22 to Liverpool arriving June 16, "Liverpool/Ship Letter" backstamp and matching "8" due rating h.s. for ship fee, F.-V.F.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Letter was sent to Liverpool where forwarding agent, E. Busch & Co., paid incoming 8d ship rate and then sent letter under cover to Holland.
