Confederacy, Kingston, Ga., 1861, 5¢ black, lovely provisional handstamp on cover with "Kingston, Ga., Sep. 4" (1861) postmark, with Military address to Lynchburg, Virginia, flap crudely repaired & small wrinkle at top, Very Fine and choice, one of the finest of only a few recorded, a grossly undercatalogued provisional entire; with 2009 P.F. certificate. Scott No. 46XU1 $2,250.
Only two examples are recorded by Crown. A very rare Postmasters' Provisional which was missing from the great Caspary collection.
