Folded letter with manuscript "15" prepaid rate on reverse (5 decimes French and 10 decimes British), red Liverpool transit cds and "5" in circle handstamp for U.S. inland due the addressee, Very Fine, period following U.S.-G.B. postal convention of a little over 5 months (February 15 to Jul - 31, 1849) where French inland was still based on mileage.
