Mexico, (Saltillo) Leona Vicario. Red boxed date stamp (Yag-Bash ST4) on 1836 folded letter to Mexico City (file fold through postmark), also as second strike on 1838 official certified cover front with matching "Franco" boxed handstamp, Very Fine.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

Saltillo in 1827 was declared "A city with the name Leona Vicario" after the ardent revoluntary. In 1835-36 they got around to using the postmark "Leona Vicario". The name change was not very popular and by 1838 the name of Saltillo was resumed.
