U. S. Coins - 1859-1884 Indian Head Cents

Lot 2594

1873 Indian Head Cent. Doubled "LIBERTY", Closed "3". Snow-1b. FS-101, formerly FS-009. A rare and highly collectible doubled die cent. This is an example of pivoted hub doubling with the pivot at 6 o'clock. The most noticeable effect of this doubling is the spread between the letters of "LIBERTY" on the headband. The surfaces show even brown patina, and the only surface flaws of note are numerous abrasions that are peppered over both obverse and reverse, PCGS graded EF-40.
Estimate    $2,000 - 3,000.

Realized: $1,900
