Hoxie in Honolulu, backstamped with blue oval "H. K. Cummings & Co., Commission Merchants, San Francisco" handstamp, with original enclosure datelined "San Francisco, Nov. 14, 1855" regarding business and shipping; cover with sealed tear not affecting markings and flap tears through sender's oval, F.-V.F., the only recorded strike of the "Per Frances Palmer" ship handstamp without quotation marks, illustrated in Coburn's Letters of Gold, ex Pietsch.
